A story’s first chapters have the job of compelling readers to keep reading. These first pages need to grab attention, build curiosity, and make readers want to know what happens next. The story's beginning has many simultaneous functions, like introducing primary characters, sources of conflict, and the protagonist’s motivating goal and emotional need.

Comprehensive Story Analysis
I’ll read your first fifty pages (12,500 words) and assess how effectively your story draws readers in — focusing on plot setup, character introduction, conflict, pacing, and overall structure.
Detailed Editorial Letter
You’ll receive an in-depth written review (3–6 pages) highlighting strengths, areas for improvement, specific suggestions to strengthen the
first major plot point, the inciting incident.
Scene-Level Insights
In-text comments focus on scene development and the protagonist’s external goals, internal needs/desires that create emotional impact.
Next Steps for Revision
Actionable guidance so you can revise with clarity — whether that means refining your hook, deepening character goals, or tightening pacing.

During story coaching sessions, I collaborate with authors to work through writing and revision possibilities.
- Each coaching session will include pre-meeting prep, where the author submits up to 2,500 words of manuscript for review.
- Authors receive writing assignments, live feedback, and accountability to meet deadlines.
- They receive inspiration, encouragement, writing advice, and support.
- 1-hour Zoom call where we discuss editorial feedback, craft issues, answer author questions, and plan the next steps.
